The unceded, stolen land of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land!!

# QUOTATIONS

You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. ~winnie-the-pooh

After using 100% for the last several years, switching back to , it becomes infuriatingly clear that Windows does not, in fact, have a fully preemptable OS design.

So many things can interrupt userspace and ruin interactivity. It's why Windows feels "freezy" and a little unpredictable. Like, you never know if your mouse is going to slow down, or an app will crash, or a blip will happen in your audio. Because the kernel is a tangled mess of custom bespoke spaghetti edge cases built up over generations, not a consistent predictable scheduler that just schedules predictably.

Linux is a very mature, superior OS, and it's becoming more so by the week.

Thousands gathered at Camp Sovereignty, over September 5–6, to show solidarity with First Nations people against the fascists and racists’ brutal attacks on the camp in the aftermath of the racist rally in the city on August 31.

The camp will be well guarded from now against any future racist attack. The mood among the crowd was resolute and respectful as they took part in a healing smoking ceremony. This land was stolen. It was never given up.

As Krautungalung Elder Uncle Robbie Thorpe told the crowd: β€œIn a strange way they [the racists] have done us a favour.”

[A national day of action is being held against racism and fascism on September 13.]

Bravo Banksy. πŸ‘

β€œA new mural by elusive street artist Banksy has appeared on the side of the Royal Courts of Justice building in central London.”

The Banksy mural

I update my tools or libraries every few months, at most, and usually years. They're already basically perfect, why change?

If you need to update tools every single time you run your program, you have a problem and the problem is not l33t h4xx0rz, it's between your chair & keyboard.

The Valle Niasmor Municipal Power Station is now under automated computer control!

This new generation of control software should avoid needing to write new code to control different configurations of machines, allowing one to simply write configuration files describing the relationships between sensor inputs and machine outputs.

Mention of colonial settler violence

Today my beautiful partner Temika and I went to the Melbourne Museum in the middle of the city.

We spent most of our time in the First Nations exhibit.

As the exhibit went on, and it displayed the effects of colonisation of the First Nations people of this land, I was overcome with grief.

I am not ashamed to say that I cried. There is something about being shown, instead of being merely told.

People have been sharing this around, so I will too πŸŒžπŸ™

What I need in a phone: a working web browser, a Signal client, SMS and telephony.

Is there a non-iOS, non-Android option?

If you want to see some programmer art, SchemOTron 2025 is all my sprites, parodying programming languages.

I wonder what it is possible to do with a dial up internet connection today.

Because I have always wanted to run a dial up ISP.

i wouldn't say it is intuitive, but i will say https://sillyz.computer is in the most stable state it has ever been, if you want to poke around

FUN FACT:

https://codeberg.org/libreboot/lbwww/commit/681900472e283938aed27e056849233cb2fd0c2c

I've removed the Patreon link from libreboot.org. It will soon be replaced.

SPI recently emailed me to officially invite Libreboot. I'd previously applied for Libreboot to become a SPI member project, like the ones shown here:

https://www.spi-inc.org/projects/

I have today sent my response to them, confirming my acceptance of the invite.

I previously applied for SFC membership but got turned down - SPI is way more flexible for Libreboot purpposes.

Good times ahead!

Cheap tile/sprite libraries are the most dangerous thing for me. I grew up and developed so many games before there were any royalty-free tilesets, so all my old stuff looks like developer-drawn ass, or cost me an arm and a leg.

So now if I see a tileset that's free or under $5, IT MUST BE MINE. $6-40, I'll strongly debate getting it.

I have 2.85GB in my Sprites folder. Do I *need* more? That's not a question.

Oryx classic roguelike, 8x8 sometimes colored tiles, blocky letters. Oryx Ultimate Fantasy, 16x16 256-color sprites, woodland sacrifice scene. Oryx lo-fi horror, 8x8 but multi-colored sprites face a squid-snake thing.

Nobody talks about skibidi toilet anymore...

A few weeks ago, I failed at trying to figure out a 0000000F / 0000000A Sad Mac error. I now know it's the ADB chip, so let's try to make our own. Also, we'll upgrade a Mac SE with @hkz's Performer Mini Plus 68030 and try out some eBay cheese gears. Saturday noon eastern. https://youtube.com/live/mrCvhHfiLcI?feature=share

Still on my bullshit about BASIC 😎
