today’s filthy shitty unhappy job: pulling a dead drain pump from my mom’s aging samsung front load washer.
the worst part was draining very old undrained effluvia.
the pump is accessed from the underside of the washer, via a small access port. just enough room to get your hand inside to loosen two bolts, cut your wrists on the metal frame, and unclamp several hoses.
just guess how great 15 years of caked up solid black soap detergent smells. i’m pigpen now.
i can’t complain. this saves my retiree mother $1000 and keeps a big hunk of metal out of the landfill. permacomputing at its grimiest.
for anyone wondering: yes, you can absolutely do this kind of job yourself even with very limited mechanical knowhow. there are plenty of videos out there that can walk you through replacing a drain pump yourself.

Completed the design of the panel for Blinkenlights. This little Uxn emulator includes a knob to change the evaluation rate, a stepper and a toggle to run the program over.

The claim that a single dimension of time is not a sufficient model for investigating the relationship between relativity and quantum mechanics, but the real model specifically looks like one non-spatial dimension of many tiny fermion-like things attempting to evolve in time virtually and one non-spatial dimension of history which represents the final outcome of how all the virtual timelines actually interacted (3+1+1D space). Relativity is two or three times becoming one history. The time or probability dimension is a construct that makes mathematical equations possible, the history dimension is real.

I just returned from Camp Sovereignty today.
You have no doubt heard about the disgusting, vile attack that racists and fascists made against the Camp recently. Well I have this to say to you--if the thousands of people who showed up today to the "Sovereign Day Out" have anything to do with it, these cretinous, cowardly little boys who attacked the Camp will have no place in the future of this land.
I am told that the fascists did not disturb the sacred fire burning at the Camp, and when I heard that, I was filled with immense relief.
But it is still beyond disturbing that fascism has reared its ugly head in the so-called "Commonwealth of Australia".
This land was stolen. It was never given up. This is Aboriginal land, and the culture that belongs with it is beautiful and ancient. I think it is the duty of every wadjela, every non-Aboriginal person, to consider the concepts of Blak Sovereignty, Blak Liberation, and Blak lives, very very carefully.
Where does your life fit in with the struggle for justice on this land? I have been going around saying "there is no socialism in Australia without 'Land Back'".
I think today's experience at the Camp, that I went to with my powerful blak partner Temika, only confirms that this analysis is correct.
