The PRINTOUT output formatting function of Interlisp is similar to Common Lisp's FORMAT but also allows control over fonts and text attributes. In this example the first T is like the T stream of FORMAT, the second like ~%. The comma outputs a space.

Actually, has the burning of #bonkwave to a CD been documented before? Am I the pioneer burninator?
hey if i wanted to use a linux distro that won't make me suicidal and is also not ubuntu, which would i use?
Thought you’d wanna see my big, long... CD player. #fleamarket #blešák

I'd alluded earlier to the fact that I'm auditing the wikis of various Linux distros - BSDs are also on my radar.
I'm on a general crusade to promote free/open source boot firmware projects, such as coreboot. I myself am the founder and maintainer of Libreboot, a popular coreboot distro, but Libreboot has this page linking other firmware projects, including other coreboot distros:
https://libreboot.org/other.html
I'm essentially replicating this on distro wikis, to promote coreboot and other projects.
I asked why Invidious seems broken and the community answered: Google blocks Invidious server IPs. One person, @FrankBlack78 , responded suggesting FreeTube or NewPipe:
https://freetubeapp.io/ - desktop client
https://newpipe.net/ - for Android
Honestly, these seem like much better solutions since they then rely exclusively on the user's and Google's bandwidth; no need for servers with big fat pipes to the internet.
They offer full interfaces, with search!
Of course, yt-dlp is great too.
@contrapunctus hope you have been well 🙏
i've barely done any tech stuff since the year started.
pretty much all my time has been taken up with the demands of meatspace.

I have determined that the Debian wiki is shit. Absolute shit. Especially the installation instructions. So I've made it my mission to thoroughly audit their wiki, and I've been making changes. For example, on the installation page, the section pertaining to installation media did not actually say how to *boot the installation media*, so I added a stub at the beginning of it linking to the article about UEFI, which does contain such info.
https://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstall
I'm auditing other distros too.

On 21 January, two days after the commencement of a long-awaited ceasefire in Gaza, Israel launched a major military operation on Jenin in the occupied West Bank, raiding the city with troops, military vehicles, and bulldozers backed by airstrikes, drones, and Apache helicopters.
At least nine Palestinians have been killed and more than 40 wounded in the ongoing operation, according to the Ramallah-based Palestinian health ministry, which Israel has dubbed “Operation Iron Wall.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the goal of the “large scale and significant military operation” was to “to eradicate terrorism in Jenin.”
According to eyewitnesses and civilians inside the Jenin refugee camp, Israeli forces have laid siege to the camp and snipers are targeting anyone who tries to leave.
“People tried to escape from the camp amid the ongoing Israeli invasion, but only some were able to get out. Others remain stuck at the edges of the camp unable to leave,” Ahmad, a 26-year-old resident of the camp, told the news website Drop Site.
The invasion comes immediately after Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces - who have been besieging and attacking Jenin since early December - withdrew from the city.
Meanwhile, Israeli troops remain in Gaza amidst a shaky truce. Palestinians are now confronted with the daunting task of recovering bodies of loved ones buried beneath the rubble and rebuilding their destroyed homes and shattered lives. Israeli politicians continue to threaten an end to the ceasefire and a resumption of Israel’s brutal war on Gaza.
We call for:
- a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of all Israeli occupation forces from Gaza
- an end to Israel’s assault of Jenin
- a complete withdrawal of all Israeli occupation forces and settlers from the West Bank
- a two-way arms embargo on Israel
- diplomatic and trade sanctions on Israel now!

I just paid rent. It was free, through my bank app, and got to my landlord basically instantly. All I needed was my property manager's email address.
I could send money to a friend the same way.
This doesn't sound much different than ACH or PayPal but I assure you it is 1000% nicer.
One of the many things you don't realize living in the US is how much friction is added to basically everything you do to ensure some middleman or service provider can profit off of it.
