# QUOTATIONS

You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. ~winnie-the-pooh

after a month of studying japanese everyday, i now know about 400 words and can understand probably 5% (probably less) of spoken conversations

way better than i expected!

the way the news gets away with depicting hackers is ridiculous

Description: In this image, we see a woman wearing headphones and a black jacket, sitting in a radio studio. She is holding her hand to her face, appearing to be in a thoughtful or pensive mood. The background features a radio control panel, which is a common element in radio studios. The text overlay on the image reads "(sobbing): then she was gone." This suggests that the woman might be reflecting on a recent event or conversation.

Disclaimer: I'm listening, caller, but before we proceed, I must offer this small caveat: The description of the image in question has been generated by an automated process, not unlike the way my brother Niles generates excuses to avoid physical exertion. As such, its accuracy may be as questionable as Dad's choice in recliners. Please, do exercise your own judgment, much as I do when selecting a fine sherry.

looks like this blog post is gonna take more than one afternoon

Looks like Code Club has finally shed any connection it had to what we started and is well on its way to teaching kids that surveillance is fine, actually.

Good job, Raspberry Pi Foundation/Broadcom, Inc.

(I helped set it up, wrote one of the first lessons in Scratch for the curriculum, and was on the board but resigned, along with one of the co-founders, when the other co-founder courted Google. We’d already had disagreements as we didn’t want Prince Andrew as a patron…) 🤷‍♂️

I found a bad solder joint and after reflowing it (and every other one on the board while I was at it) and the Osborne CRT seems to be fixed! I love this cute ascii art “self portrait” in the help on the system floppy

A bare green phosphor CRT showing an ascii art diagram of the Osborne 1 computer, pointing out the drives, monitor, disk slots, modem, serial, IEEE, keyboard, external viddeo, and battery ports, and the brightness, contrast, and reset controls. The same CRT showing a the boot logo, the Osborne “O” with horizontal lines going through it

In other news, I finally finished shooting the new video I promised some days ago. It’s going to take another day or two to edit and release. Sorry for the delay, I was a bit slower than I anticipated. I didn’t quite brush off the global news as well as I thought and had some sleepless nights and unproductive mood swings. Back on track now. ✊

@vga256 guess what?! 😀

@setto yeah pretty much my point--i don't compare myself to anyone else. people can read my writing or not, i'm not forcing them... 🤣

the critical philosophers who followed after kant in german idealism were all correct: thinking and judging is an active process that requires the volition, the will

british philosophers seem to be to be completely without awe or reverence for this attitude. every perception is like beholding a mere statue, a copy of an actual object.

where is the full-bloodedness of philosophy these days?

sometimes my writing is cramped and a little difficult to parse, i know this

people think i am cringe, and apparently i don't know this???

honestly, the degree to which you accept your own cringe-ness is the degree to which you are set free

I've been looking at some "classic" forum software a few weeks ago, mostly centered on the bigger players in the PHP sector (PhpBB, SMF etc.), but noticed recently that there's a plethora of variants of the "Acmlmboard" software (used, apparently, a lot in console game circles).

Anyone have experiences with that?

"armistice day"

there.

fixed it for you.
