# LOCATION

The unceded, stolen land of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land!!

# QUOTATIONS

You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. ~winnie-the-pooh

Today on I started seeing a little blurb in my timeline, "who to follow". Shades of twitter! When did this start? I clicked on "don't show again", and I saw it again (although that may have been on a different device).

I don't like this; it would be OK if there were an "advice for you" choice in the menu along with home and notifications and explore. I thought mastodon was all about "don't shove things in my face that I didn't choose". When did that stop?

Anyone using a Linux based operating system on their smartphone?

I'm looking for feedback about SailfishOS, Murena, PureOS, UBPorts, PostmarketOS, or any other OS that are not android based. Like, are you happy of it? Are you limited by it?

My own smartphone is about to die, I'd like to avoid Android as I never really enjoyed it (I'm running LineageOS).

With the awful choice from the USA, will be more important than ever to wrestle some control from the oligarchs and plutocrats.

Free hardware hopefully will become an obtainable thing if Europe maybe starts producing things locally.

can't be said enough:
multipolarism is not anti-imperialism.

This is a nice site for discovering EU based alternatives to US based tools: https://european-alternatives.eu

whatever the imperialist core thinks is important is usually always wrong

Half-Life fun fact

City 17 is modelled on Sofia, the capitol of Bulgaria. The art director of HL2 grew up there, and in Half Life: Alyx they subtly hint at an eastern European location more than once.

i remember learning a little javascript when i was in high school

i did not see the point of it, and i still don't

now that it's a vector for spectre and meltdown vulnerabilities i just cannot wrap my head around why we continue this path

I've seen more than one “influencer" Mac mini "review" where it's basically unboxing, an ad, then video of the Apple store configurator and/or power button location and that's it. Never gets benchmarked or even turned on.

early 80s video games are so good

and the average user would have been so much closer to writing their own games, too

nightmares...

it's like my brain knows what i am worried about and tortures me with it

i should get back into 6502 assembly

i miss coding for the atari 2600

In terms of resilience, I'm a human B-17. The kind of plane that could get hit by a thousand rounds of machine gun fire, lose an engine and its tail rudder and still make it back across the North Sea somehow

Hey guys here's my fully spec-compliant ActivityPub implementation:

int main(void) {
return 0;
}

Reminder: Libreboot machines heavily discounted:

https://minifree.org/

I'm Libreboot's founder and lead developer. Sales fund Libreboot. Libreboot (preinstalled) is free/opensource firmware replacing proprietary BIOS/UEFI.

New stable Libreboot release coming soon, by November 15th.

Your choice of Debian Linux, other distro or BSD.

Libreboot 9020 price further reduced; was £218, then 138, now 118. I'll discontinue the 9020 next week and will launch new, better products. All 9020's must go!

Whelp. I just deactivated my 3000+ follower account on Xitter. I'd been trying to give people time to switch, but I'm done.
Anybody wanna follow a poor ttrpg creator who's trying to do this for a living?

we gotta move these

evaluators!

we gotta move these

lisp machiiiiines!

it would be very nice to do things in emacs that others find useful

i wanna make a cool lil roguelike in lisp

probably emacs lisp

i had this idea (maybe last year?) to make a 1 dimensional dungeon crawler, i.e. you could only move left and right on, say, an emacs message bar

there is also that patchset for bash that makes it like a dungeon crawler?
