"The thing is hard to define because the thing has always been about resisting reason, resisting logic, resisting definitions, resisting clear concepts. Fascism is about precisely unreason. It's about emotion, it's about will, it's about will over everthing else."
So institutions, constitutions, laws don't mean anything to fascists. The only thing that matters is the person who has the strongest will, who of course is the leader.
I have several thousand links to pages on WayBack Machine on my blog.
Is it possible to download a specific page from archive.org in such a way that it is viewable offline? As in, a self-contained HTML file with all CSS, JS, and Images inlined?
How would one go about doing that?
I'd like to decentralise my outbound links to dead sources.
(I am very happy for you to mansplain how to do this. Or to wildly speculate.)
So, I've been reading "Late Victorian Holocausts: El Nino Famines and the Making of the Third World" by Mike Davis. And as he recounts famine after famine, each of which claimed millions of lives, I started thinking to myself: even granting the ludicrous assumptions of the anti-communists with the "Victims of Communism" webpage (and proposed memorial or something?), the victims of capitalism easily outnumber them. And I wasn't alone. Here, the authors of the linked article recount how British colonial policy was responsible for 100 million excess premature deaths in India alone, over the course of a half century.

A couple of weeks ago, I posted some thoughts here on Mastodon about why I don't believe there's such a thing as Green AI. But I wanted to make it easier to reference, so I have now re-hosted it on my blog.

** I stopped posting new stories to X/Twitter last autumn, but have kept my account, and the thousands of stories I have written since 2013 are still available.
That will soon end. In the next couple of weeks, I'll try to upload my archive to the Internet Archive, then delete all my stories from X/Twitter.
If you know someone who only follows me there, please help them follow me elsewhere.

Anyone working on e-paper projects and would like to try something new? I did an official 1.0 release of my bb_epaper library and would like to get some feedback. Why dump GxEPD or Adafruit? Because mine is much easier to use and supports more platforms with a single code base:
