meta adj, half baked thought

Kinda wondering what a federated network with connections based on a web of trust + opt in would look like.

legit: we are gonna have to go back to big cursed linkrolls that are discovered merely by word of mouth in order to fix web discoverability.

quite excited for the prospect though.

we'll write a jank wiki and everyone can just put their web links on it.

thinkin' about

an unfocused image of a toad on a sidewalk at night. it is facing mostly away from the camera, but i assure you it was a very polite little creature :^)

@robdaemon @troi I was spoiled by IBM’s 360 architecture, Amdahl did great work. Z80 was my first microprocessor, but I quickly found 6809. I loath what Intel’s done, big code museums. I’ve looked at ARM enough to want to do more. Compiling to Assembly is looking pretty good. The only issue I have is his choice of Typescript. I haven’t really done JS and the node.js tooling seems a bit much, but I don’t like Python’s tooling anymore either. Grumpy old man here :)

Built a cursed thing.
Used that to make something way more cursed.
Used that abomination to do something normal.

navigating all the doublespeak of capitalism's siloing off of human culture is nauseating.

the system is rigged. people are forced to participate in a toxic culture of work.

maybe a quick project could be a lil common lisp newsletter program

maybe it will have a web interface. maybe.

Another debunked idea still pushed in mainstream is that capitalism leads to democracy - some even go as far to say capitalism is a necessary condition of democracy.

This is just cold-war era propaganda that still occasionally shows up in econ classrooms to this day. If anything, unfettered free-market capitalism almost necessarily devolves into oligarchy, rather than bolstering democracy, as the biggest companies in the world are showcasing well as we speak.
