# QUOTATIONS

You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. ~winnie-the-pooh

After talking with a friend about drafts of The Wrath of Khan, I decided to watch it along side the one shooting script I have for it.

Still lots to mine in here, even if it's not an early draft. I'd forgotten Saavik was originally half Romulan, which is why she has flashes of emotion in the movie:

"She's half Romulan, Jim. The admixture makes her more volatile than...me, for example."

all these software people obsessed with “shipping” and “deliverables” and “package managers” should consider the possibility that postal work might be their true calling

i think the chinese might even be able to offer some interesting solutions to exactly what microcontroller platform to target, this is a curated list of what ulisp supports natively.

bren thinking very deeply about @permacomputer

but have not had the time to write anything down

i have been exploring collapseOS and it is rich in ideas. it is largely complete as a project and DuskOS has taken over, it seems.

you could think of the people's permacomputer project as a lisp variation of the FORTH-based collapseOS

The Windows 98 shutdown screen. Orange text on black, reading "It's now safe to turn off your computer."

TIL Sea Shepherd has a ship called Allan Kay.

oh look! a cracked version of god of war ragnarok already exists! it's been 90 minutes since release! and they've already converted legit paying customers to pirate customers cuz of their stupid DRM

sony, was it really worth all the man-hours you've put into creating DRM? and worth the sales you've lost?

What does a clock do when it's hungry? It goes back four seconds!

Absolutely mind-boggling that of all the new source code forges being made, all but one (1) maintains github's firmly locked 1:1 correlation between a “project”, “source code repository”, and “issue tracker”—the latter of which is really “general support channel” rather than an actual bug tracker since there's no other option for a general support channel integrated into the forge.

Seriously, this is the sole reason I use Sourcehut (I'm not really all-in on the email workflow although I don't mind it).

is it normal to be tired all the time

Anybody sell merch/shirts in AUS?. My charity is looking to sell shirts at PAXAUS and we've tested a few places to print out logo

AND THEY'RE ALL HOT TRASH. Anybody got a high quality local vendor?

I've heard good things about https://www.machinescreenprinters.com.au/ so they're up next for a sample.

@galaxis And this is why we have

Dire Straits - "Setting Me Up" (1978)

human! please drink some fluids. thank you from a robot who loves you.

Looking for for . I would like one with ad blocking and the ability to watch videos such as youtube videos in fullscreen and with captions enabled.

My first step in my journey is complete - got the X68000 Pro I got at VCFMW from @thegirlg33k to actually see and then boot from a @BlueSCSI V2. Next step, more RAM. I'll probably make a GALSPanic board for that, then do a redesign of the Midiori MIDI board to make it easier to manufacture. Then hopefully design an RP2350 based board!

An open computer case, but not much of the internals are visible since it's blocked by large pieces of metal. There's a blue BlueSCSI PCB sitting on top connected to the computer with a ribbon cable. On the screen is a file selector program.

on driving driving emacs elisp viz a calendar app.

I thought I had another week! I'm not sure if I have to submit in the next ten hours or what.

Anyway I would love some feedback and commentary on how I can get a 20 minutes (why not one hour??)
